Hi, I’m Sofi Acuña. I’m a Visual Communication Designer and social media marketing professional who enjoys creating clear, engaging content for community programs and nonprofit organizations. I combine design and digital marketing to help community-focused groups share their message in a way that is effective, accessible, and meaningful.

I earned my B.S. in Visual Communication Design from San Francisco State University, where I built skills in branding, layout, and user-centered design. I expanded my experience through the DxD Intensive UI/UX mentorship with Workday, where I designed a sustainability-focused Figma prototype centered on accessibility and community impact.

I completed the Digital Marketing Fellowship with COOP Careers, gaining experience in SEO, SEM, social media ads, analytics, and content planning. I focus on organic social content and also contribute to paid social projects.

HELLO!

HeroesToo INTERNSHIP

One of my most valuable experiences was my internship in Hong Kong, where working in a diverse, international environment deeply influenced my approach to design and visual storytelling.

Peninsula Family Conections

I worked at Peninsula Family Connections for nearly three years, a nonprofit organization that provides early childhood education and family resources, including ASQ developmental screenings. During my time there, I worked as a designer, coordinator, and teacher, supporting both program delivery and community engagement through creative and educational work.

COOP fellowship

I was a Digital Marketing Fellow with COOP Careers, a highly selective 16-week program where I gained expertise in SEO, SEM, social media advertising, and programmatic ad buying. The fellowship included 200 hours of hands-on training in digital marketing platforms, professional communication, and real-world client projects.

Americorps VISTA at United Way of Utah COunty

At United Way of Utah County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities thrive, I’ve led social media and volunteer coordination efforts across three community centers: South Franklin, American Fork, and Payson. I developed consistent content strategies, created bilingual newsletters, designed promotional materials, and produced data-driven social media reports that highlight community engagement growth. I also launched campaigns to spotlight volunteers, supported event outreach, helped standardize templates across centers, and introduced new initiatives such as a free professional headshot event to serve families and students. Through this role, I’ve combined design, digital marketing, and community building to strengthen local outreach and support inclusive programming.
